The Vice President, Interoperability is a critical and dynamic operations leadership role that is responsible for setting and delivering on HHAeXchange’s interoperability strategy and operations. Reporting directly to the COO, the Vice President, Interoperability’s success will be measured by improving all data-related operations between our State Medicaid, MCO, and Provider customers through standardized integration, data exchange and transformation, workflow, and outcomes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare, expertise in managing healthcare data, integrations, and transactions, and a proven track record of successfully working with 3rd party vendors. This person will oversee teams responsible for vendor relations, data implementation and integration, configuration, revenue cycle, tooling, and reporting, with a focus on streamlining processes, informing business decisions, and improving customer experience.

Essential Job Duties

  • Successfully lead all data-related shared service operations including data implementation and integration, configuration, aggregation, revenue cycle, tooling, and reporting.
  • Own the relationship and interoperability strategy with all 3rd parties, including trading partners, clearinghouses, EDI Providers and their vendor, marketplace, and HHAeXchange’s Partner Connect program.
  • Develop, own, and oversee HHAeXchange’s interoperability strategy in partnership with Product and Engineering to deliver value to State’s, MCO’s, and Providers through data acquisition, integration, and transformation, workflow design, and actionable reporting and business intelligence.
  • Partner with Implementation to drive best practices in data acquisition and integration and set a standard for how HHAeXchange ingests and transforms data to align to our interoperability strategy.
  • Partner with executives and key stakeholders from product, engineering, implementation, customer success, and other departments as necessary to drive best practices related to healthcare interoperability and EDI standards.
  • Manage all interoperability KPI’s and report monthly on performance to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and optimize core teams around vendor relations, data implementation, and data operations.
  • P&L ownership and management
  • Other responsibilities as communicated, align with typical leadership responsibilities (i.e. owning and managing daily standups, weekly and monthly meetings, and 1:1’s, etc..).

  • Travel 10-25%, including overnight travel.


  • Required Education, Experience, Certifications and Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in healthcare interoperability and / or data operations, with 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role.
  • 5+ years of experience in the post-acute, Medicaid revenue cycle, or homecare space, with experience in a SaaS environment strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare interoperability, integration, and EDI standards.
  • Experience working with State Medicaid Agencies, MCO’s, and Homecare Providers.
  • Knowledge of the 21st Century CURES Act and corresponding EVV requirements, Medicaid revenue cycle, and Medicaid billing rules.
  • An engaging leader with an executive presence who sets and maintains high standards, leads by example, and holds themselves and their staff accountable in over-achieving KPI’s and providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Strong technical acumen with the ability to drive operational excellence through partnership with product and engineering.
  • Strong customer-facing presence with the ability to interact with customers, vendors, and 3rd parties.
  • Demonstrated experience in building scalable and repeatable processes in a data operations organization.
  • Track record of hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and retaining high performing staff.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral

  • The base salary range for this US-based, full-time, and exempt position is $200,000-$210,000, not including variable compensation. An employee’s exact starting salary will be based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, location, and the ability to exemplify the HHAeXchange core values.
