What we’re looking for
We’re seeking a VP of Design and Research with experience modernizing complex experiences and a passion for user-centered design that drives business outcomes. Reporting to the CTO, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of makers responsible for the end-to-end design of the SurveyMonkey product experience and the insights that fuel that innovation.
What you’ll be working on
- Create, drive, and execute a strategic vision to reimagine the core survey experience. This vision will be executed in incremental phases that drive real customer value.
- Lead a multidisciplinary organization that includes Product Design, Content Design, Design Foundations, and Research. Create the conditions for each function to develop its practice while maintaining a single organizational culture of creativity and collaboration.
- Attract, develop, and retain a diverse, world-class team with a strong sense of purpose and belonging; provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching to ensure the team is performing at its best
- Use experimentation, customer feedback, and data-driven insights to shape the experience strategy and deliver high-impact design work.
- Facilitate product design presentations for a broad audience, anticipate and address feedback, develop opinions, and gain alignment on product design efforts.
- Provide strong representation for Design and Research with senior leadership
We’d love to hear from people with
- Experience leading complex application product design efforts as a designer and then leader, as well as experience leading research teams.
- The ability to create products customers love through incremental improvements on the path toward a coherent vision
- Experience bringing disparate experiences together into a unified platform
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to build relationships, evangelize user experience, and influence at all levels of the organization
- Stay up-to-date on design trends and best practices in the creation tools and product-led growth space
- A proven track record of hiring and growing designers at all levels
The base pay provided for this position ranges from $281,095 / year - $380,305 / year depending on the geographic market and assuming a full-time schedule. Actual base pay is based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education or training, skills, and experience.
