Location/Flexibility: Remote with a possibility for occasional travel
Responsibilities:
This Test Engineer will:
- Conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers fits its purpose
- Create test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements
- Implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies
- Identify and investigate issues found during testing, and update test cases based on discovered defects
- Work closely with software developers and software quality analysts to resolve issues
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing
- Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system architecture, and detailed design documents
- Test and prove that the software meets major architectural requirements
- Prove for scalability and performance of a software.
- Direct and/or assist in the design, development, and implementation of manual test plans and procedures for enterprise software applications
- Ensure test compliance with software design, development, and integration standards
- Reviews system requirements, documents test plans and transforms test plans into test scripts to be executed
- Conduct performance and load tests at multiple stages in software development lifecycle
- Ensures that test procedures are designed and developed to test the software for scalability, robustness, maintainability, and interoperability
- Develops test data to be used in test scripts
- Ensures proper execution of test scripts and documentation of test results in test logs and defect tracking systems
- Collaborates daily with other test engineers, developers, and release managers in an agile construct
- Analyzes test results and makes recommendations supported by such analysis
- Explores the path to implement automation testing for the applications in future
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Expert: BS degree and 11+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 14-17 years of relevant experience
Senior: BS degree and 6+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 9-13 years of relevant experience
Mid: BS degree and 3+ years of relevant experience OR HS Diploma and 6-8 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of SDLC and the role of testing in it
- Experience designing and writing software test plans procedures
- Experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Git version control system
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium
- Experience supporting code reviews
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Familiarity with test-driven development principles
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 10-15 pounds at times.
