The Technical Writer is responsible for being a subject matter expert on Toast’s Salesforce Platform environment. With this knowledge, they are required to prepare standard documentation, which our EAS (Enterprise Applications Support) and Platform team will use to help better troubleshoot Salesforce-related issues and changes. In addition, this person will work closely with the Salesforce Admins, Developers, Architects, and EAS leadership to stay updated on the latest changes/issues in the Salesforce domain and revise documentation to reflect most recent changes.
About this roll* (Responsibilities)
- Create and adhere to process documentation - written and image-based.
- Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for the greatest reader comprehension.
- Review and/or edit content developed by other members of the team.
- Ability to implement feedback and revision control procedures.
- Manage and maintain process documentation as Salesforce EAS and Platform related changes become understood and solutions are delivered.
- Work with EAS and Platform team to gather pertinent information for real-time resolution and process documentation.
- Explore and generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions.
- Potential to train stakeholders or other audience members that will ultimately use the documentation.

- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Confluence or similar Documentation Management Tool
- Basic understanding Salesforce environment properties
- Experience in a Saas production environment is highly desirable
- Experience with testing, inspection, and revision control is highly desirable
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks with competing priorities
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to navigate Toast’s various business functions to communicate issues efficiently
- Understanding of SDLC Procedures
