About the Team
The Rubrik Technical Product Management team is looking to add a passionate and creative person to our team of architects. This person will be focused on database solutions used in large scale environments and how we integrate, protect, recover, and enable innovative new ideas to a global market.
Our team is highly distributed across the world - the right candidate will thrive in an environment of asynchronous communication. We expect you to have strong written communication skills and be able to create working relationships with coworkers in locations around the globe.
As a member of the Technical Product Team team, you'll always be challenged to solve interesting and novel problems that have real impact on how the world manages data. Our team offers exposure to a variety of engineering, business, and marketing teams at Rubrik.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Rubrik platform(s) and database integrations, representing the company at conferences and other field events.
- Collaborate with peers in Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering to create technical collateral for public consumption, such as technical presentations, demonstrations, white papers, reference architectures, blogs, videos, and more.
- Communicate customer feedback and perspectives to appropriate teams to be considered for future product strategy.
About the Job
As a Technical Product Manager, you will be responsible for working with our engineering teams, product management team, technical marketing, and sales to provide deep technical knowledge about Rubrik’s cloud solutions. In this role, you will:
- Assist Product Management on the development, management, and communication of the product roadmap to both internal and external key stakeholders.
- Advise and aid our engineering teams on how and when to build products and features from a customer perspective.
- Test Alpha and Beta versions of new products and features as they are being developed and providing feedback to our engineering teams.
- Produce detailed solution architecture documents, Powerpoint presentations positioning our product/feature against competitors, white papers on features and functions of Rubrik products for internal and external audiences
- Help Rubrik customers deploy new products and features in their environment and provide feedback to internal teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise to our field teams around specific product disciplines.
- Work on special projects including but not limited to: Performance testing, product qualification, alliance partner product integration and automation.
- Assist with technical competitive analysis.
- Provide technical presentations about Rubrik products and features to internal engineering and field teams, new and existing customers, and industry seminars.
- 60% Marketing (Presentations, White Papers), 40% Technical (Lab testing)
ABOUT YOU
- 7+ years of overall work experience in the commercial and/or enterprise IT space, as a system administrator, professional services engineer, vendor field engineer or product specialist.
- A Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- You must have a deep understanding of enterprise computer infrastructure.
- Practical knowledge of computer protocols such as TCP/IP, iSCSI, Fiber Channel, NFS, SMB.
- Hands-on experience with rack mounted x86 server platforms.
- Expertise with VMware. Other virtualization platforms desirable.
- Expertise in Security concepts desirable. CISSP preferable.
- Architect level certification with a virtualization platform desirable.
- Experience with various enterprise databases desirable (MS SQL, Oracle, SAP HANA, etc…)
- Experience with various NAS and Storage platforms desirable.
- Experience running benchmarks and performance tests on enterprise computer systems desirable.
- Data protection experience desirable but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience writing detailed complex documentation.
- Experience presenting technical material to small and large audiences.
- A desire to continuously learn and have fun.
