Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Technical Engagement Manager to join our Quantum Navigation team. The Technical Engagement Manager is responsible for ensuring the overall success and quality of customer engagements that they have been assigned. The Technical Engagement Manager plays a key role in enabling our clients in the successful usage and value actualization of our products. In addition, they support the selling of new services engagements to ensure customer retention and continued revenue growth.

As a key member of the Solutions team, the Technical Engagement Manager will work closely with colleagues to deliver customer-facing solutions in quantum sensing. This role requires a deep understanding of Aviation, Avionics, and/or Aerospace systems that will lead to the development of specialized project delivery processes tailored to our customers’ unique needs. The Technical Engagement Manager will also be crucial in facilitating communication and collaboration across different departments within SandboxAQ, helping to align our internal strategies with our client objectives. 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Define engagement scope, proposal development and deliver against client business requirements, with a focus on aero, naval, and ground navigation technologies
  • Achieve and exceed monthly personal and team financial targets
  • Manage executive level client relationships and provide team oversight with internal and external team members
  • Direct and oversee one or more active client engagements, demonstrating versatility in managing projects both within and outside the alt-PNT sector
  • Manage all aspects of the client engagement including status reports, project plans, training and resource management
  • Mentor team members, sharing expertise in navigation technology projects, and enforce implementation best practices
  • Participate in operational issues related to specific engagements, including billings, expenses, staffing, utilization management, risk management, issue resolution management, etc
  • Drive incremental revenue through client relationship building and identifying additional opportunities for SBAQ
  • Travel as needed (up to 50%).

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Master's Degree in an engineering, physics, or equivalent technical degree and 10 years of industry experience, OR an equivalent technical Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience in a technology focused role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, executive level presence and experience in facilitating technical projects within the navigation industry
  • Successful track record serving as overall lead for enterprise implementations and technology initiatives
  • Significant enterprise level project management experience (SOWs, contract management, risk management, staffing), demonstrating the ability to adapt to different industry requirements
  • Business Process Engineering / Re-engineering background, in the areas of sales, marketing, and/or customer support consulting/implementation experience would be helpful
  • Ability to perform in an unstructured environment typical of a start-up
  • Passion to build processes, policies, methods and tools necessary to improve our delivery to our clients
  • U.S. Citizenship and/or security clearance is required for this role due to United States government contract requirements.

It’d be great if you also had these: 

  • Experience in the management of Government Property / Material
  • Experience applying Systems Engineering principles to program execution
  • Bonus - Familiarity with magnetometers, accelerometers, and other navigation related sensors
  • Familiarity with sensor calibration techniques
  • Understanding of basic electronics regulatory compliance requirements and testing
  • Ability to provide subject matter expertise to support prototype projects related to advanced technologies, collection orchestration, sensor technology, novel collection techniques, commercial solutions
  • Thorough understanding of U.S. Government and/or DoD/ Intelligence Community contract program management techniques and methods
  • Understanding of quantum mechanics as it relates to sensing and advanced computing
  • PMP or other equivalent professional project management certification

The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $196k - $321k per year. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role may be eligible for annual discretionary bonuses and equity.
