The Strategic Finance Manager will work closely with Chainguard Leadership to drive company-wide strategic initiatives. This role will own the collection of operational and financial data, the development and delivery of KPIs, growth trends, and metrics to internal and external stakeholders. This is a highly visible role that will partner with leaders throughout the organization to analyze complex business decisions and help drive sustainable growth.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with executive and functional leadership to analyze complex business decisions and provide thought partnership through a financial lens
- Develop, deliver, and maintain insightful reporting on KPIs, growth trends and operational metrics to key internal and external stakeholders
- Create and operate key financial forecasting tools and operating models, using data and partnering with teams across the business to maximize predictability
- Partner with the Director of Finance & Accounting and CEO directly in communications with the board, leadership team, investors, and other stakeholders; prepare materials, conduct analysis, and help shape our narrative.
- Identify and execute opportunities to maximize ROI throughout the organization and drive sustainable growth
- Implement new processes, tools, and systems to improve forecasting and reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Support the Board and Executive team on ad hoc strategy and financial analyses
- Support fundraising, and investor relations activities
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience in a combination of Strategic Finance or FP&A at a high-growth tech company, investing, or consulting
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to convey complex financial information clearly
- Experience with SQL, data analytics, dashboard tools, revenue modeling and forecasting, large data sets and sophisticated models, proficiency with GSuite/Excel and deck creation
- Eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges
- This role requires a self-starter, keen attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced ambiguous environment
- History of building positive relationships with people and teams across a broad, diverse organization and driving projects forward
