We’re looking for an experienced Staff Platform Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of high-impact problem solvers.
About the role:
The Staff Platform Services Engineer will have software engineering experience building and deploying applications to hybrid-infrastructure developer platforms (private and commercial cloud infrastructure). You will have experience working with customer application teams to edit/correct helm charts, deploy to containerized platforms, and use observability, monitoring, and alerting tools to run post release testing. With leadership skills, they will mentor junior to mid-level engineers and have strong communication skills for high-level stakeholder interaction.
What we are looking for:
- 3+ years of overall hands-on experience developing production software leveraging modern languages (including Java, Python, Go, NodeJS, etc.)
- In-depth experience developing containerized services deployed in production on orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Mesos, Swarm, etc.
- Extensive background with agile and lean software development philosophies
- Practical experience working with relational and/or non-relational databases e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with modern version control systems such as Git, Subversion, Mercurial, etc.
- Ability to obtain a SECRET or above security clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or an equivalent technical degree; or equivalent industry experience
- Obtain Security+ within the first 90 days of employment with Raft
Highly preferred:
- Mastery of relational and non-relational databases
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
Clearance Requirements:
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

- May require up to 10% travel
Salary Range:
- $120,000 - $190,000
- The determination of compensation is predicated upon a candidate's comprehensive experience, demonstrated skill, and proven abilities
