About This Job
The Staff Accountant will be invaluable in creating and improving the financial infrastructure of Dutchie. This individual will be the initial point of contact on all matters related to areas such as T&E, Prepaid Expenses, Fixed Asset, and month-end close activities. You will build reports leveraging internal systems, analyze financial statements, and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the general ledger reconciliations. What You'll Do...
- Reconcile and book appropriate journal entries to balance cash
- Analyze cash burn through activity data and prepare related reporting
- Review and process employee expense reports in accordance with the business travel and expense policies
- Review monthly credit card statements and prepare journal entries
- Reconcile and analyze prepaid expenses and their effect on the financial statements
- Perform routine validations of the fixed assets and prepare related depreciation schedules
- Assist with year-end audit process including various schedule preparation and participation with public accounting firm
- Participate in month-end close by preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for completeness and accuracy, and perform flux analyses on financial statements and other financial data
- Financial statement analysis and critical thinking to provide thoughtful insights for management reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Identifies ways to continuously improve the monthly accounting close process through technology and process enhancements
- Be a key business partner internally and work with various departments to implement processes
- Support other departments and our business partners on an as-needed basis
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels within the organization
- Performs other related duties as assigned
What You Bring...
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- 1-2+ years experience in a related position or field
- Strong attention to detail and knowledge of US GAAP
- Flexible and adaptable to meeting the evolving needs of a high-growth and fast-paced organization by taking ownership of assigned projects and responsibilities
- Professional skepticism and an analytical mindset
- Openness to process improvements and ability to find efficiencies in various procedures
It's a bonus if you...
- 1-2 years of public accounting experience
- Have experience navigating financial audits and providing support
- Experience with Sage Intacct, Navan and system migrations
- CPA certification is a plus
You’ll Get…
We are targeting a salary range of $56,000-$74,000 based on the intended level for this role. There may be flexibility on individual compensation packages based candidate skill set, experience, qualifications and other position-related factors.
