In this role, you will:
- Perform various GL month-end close activities
- Communicate regularly with cross-functional teams
- Reconcile bank accounts
- Review invoices and ensure they are accounted for accurately
- Perform fixed asset account reconciliations and reviews
- Assist with audits
- Prepare journal entries and related account reconciliations
- Pursue process improvement and automation of existing processes
- Ad hoc projects
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor’s degree
- CPA or interest in obtaining CPA
- 1+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Excellent analytical and technical skills including proficiency in US GAAP
- Intermediate excel skills
- Experience working under strict deadlines and ensuring compliance with company policies
- Must be a fast learner, and multi-tasker with a strong desire to learn and a ‘can do’ attitude
- Able to work with a high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of operational accounting processes
- Must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively
- Critical thinker, able to implement scalable processes
- Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through
An ideal candidate also has:
- Public accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Experience with NetSuite
