Pine Gate Renewables is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant that is excited about working in the dynamic renewable energy industry. This position will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager and will be responsible for maintaining the accounting records for corporate entities in accordance with US GAAP. You should be a self-starter possessing: solid communication skills, a keen attention to detail, and a forward-looking attitude. You should thrive working in a faced paced, deadline oriented, and evolving environment. In this role, you will lead by example providing excellent customer service, accurate and timely financial deliverables while continuously engaging in process improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare monthly and annual close journal entries in accordance with GAAP including (but not limited to): fixed assets, prepaids, lease accounting, inventory accounting, payroll accounting, and accrued liabilities.
- Perform analytical review of trial balances monthly for unusual or missing transactions.
- Assist with balance sheet and income statement month over month analysis.
- Maintain balance sheet account reconciliations and schedules that support the trial balance and ensure adherence to US GAAP.
- Reconcile bank accounts for corporate entities on a weekly basis.
- Record receipt of receivables for corporate entities.
- Prepare and record wire transfers associated with corporate entities as needed.
- Support the year-end and interim annual audit activities with external auditors.
- Work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously, make decisions, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines.
- Continuously look for ways to increase efficiencies and improve processes to accommodate expected growth in volume.
- Perform other responsibilities as needed.
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of relevant experience in a corporate accounting environment or combination of public and corporate accounting.
- Strong proficiency with GAAP.
- Experience in the solar industry a plus.
- Experience with joint ventures, parent-subsidiary, and/or complex organizational structures a plus.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion and/or Sage Intacct accounting software a plus.
- Excellent understanding of US GAAP accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, make decisions, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel Skills.
- Proficient at MS Office.
Education and Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA or advanced degrees a plus.
Work Environment
- Remote; quarterly travel to Asheville, NC.
