What You’ll Do
The Sr. Security Engineer is responsible for supporting Strive Health’s various Information Security solutions and technologies including monitoring systems, remote access solutions, authentication methods and other systems relevant to the Information Security program. The Security Engineer works in tandem with security analysts to implement and enhance systems which facilitate the analyst job functions of detection and response. The Security Engineer implements automations which improve the Security team’s operational efficiency.
The Day to Day
- Shares ownership role for various Information Security solutions including SIEM, CASB, ZTNA
- Contributes to the evaluation, design, implementation, and documentation of new security tooling
- Completes assigned tasks of routine to moderate complexity related to projects and technical requests
- Participates in assigned tasks related to regulatory, compliance and remediation efforts
- Develops and implements thoughtful solutions to address security gaps effectively
- Demonstrates capacity for self-directed learning and ability to pass along knowledge to junior team members
- Collaborates with other internal information technology teams (networking, cloud, traditional architecture, developers, and data scientists) to support internal and external systems
- Remains current on industry trends in cyber risk with industry standards (ISO 27001/2, NIST, CIS) and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, HITRUST, etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, and/or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years experience working in a technical, hands-on, information security role.
- 1+ current security related certifications (e.g., CISSP, SANS GIAC, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to teach, strong organizational skills, excellent communication, customer service, relationship development, results orientation, team building and decision-making
- Demonstrated ability, or potential, to excel in smaller entrepreneurial organizations
- Basic knowledge of healthcare security & compliance regulations
- Intermediate knowledge of cloud infrastructure, network architecture, security systems and terms
- Familiarity with Python, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
- Demonstrated ability to consider problems at scale and implement forward-thinking solutions
Annual Salary Range: $99,000.00-$124,000.00
