We are expanding our team and looking for a Sr Manager of Sales, Start-ups to own, develop, and execute the strategy to acquire and grow early to mid-stage startup customers. You will be responsible for building and leading a team of Account Executives focused on growing consumption and user adoption across the customer base, positioning Databricks as the core of the customer’s data/AI stack. Your team will be measured on revenue quota attainment, new logo acquisition, expansion, and retention of existing customer accounts. This is a team of motivated and coachable sellers so we are looking for someone who has a growth mindset and loves developing Account Executives into rising stars.
The impact you will have:
- Build, develop and inspire a high-performing team of Account Executives to help them overachieve on their goals and objectives
- Drive AI transformation in the Startup ecosystem by winning core AI and data intelligence workloads
- Own and exceed your teams annual sales targets by driving platform adoption across all product lines while accurately forecasting a consumption-based business
- Act as a trusted advisor to technical co-founders, helping them build market-leading data and GenAI products
- Become a core part of the US Startup ecosystem via relationships with founders, VCs, Incubators and Accelerators
- Engage with with go-to-market, field engineering, and partner teams to define and execute a consistent coverage model that results in a healthy and durable business
- Create long term customer value through the negotiation and execution of committed contracts
What we look for:
- 5+ years of successfully building and leading high-growth sales teams serving customers within the Big Data, Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), Analytics, AI spaces.
- A proven track record of exceeding quota and thriving in hyper-growth environment
- Passion for people development with a focus on 1:1 and coaching within defined frameworks
- Entrepreneurial mindset with experience building new teams, businesses and/or products
- Understanding of value and deployment of selling and sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC, Challenger, Command of Message.
- Experience developing partner ecosystems to help grow territories and ensure customer success
- Strong technical acumen with ability to learn new technologies and understand complex markets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as experience communicating with and presenting to the C Suite
