The Sr. Manager, Construction Standards Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the construction standards for the Self-Perform Construction team. Assisting in integrating new technologies, materials, methods, and products. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Commercial Management or another management personnel that the President of the Company may designate. The Construction Standards Engineer will be the dotted line supervisor to the Self-Perform Construction Engineers. This position is located in Ankeny, IA and working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 9:00am to 6:00pm local time. Overtime and weekend working hours may be required as needed. This position is expected to travel up to 10%.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create standards and identify innovative construction improvements 
  • Ownership of tools and processes involved in managing the execution of project deliverables and ensure compliance with project timelines and standards. 
  • Acquire all necessary permits and ensure rigorous adherence to project specifications. 
  • Enhance team collaboration and communication across all project stakeholders, internally and externally. 
  • Collaborate with those supervising the generation and organization of project reports and technical documents and maintain strict control over project documentation. 
  • Champion professional development of Construction Engineers and Field Engineers by designing and executing development plan training and certifications. 
  • Regularly attend and contribute to technical meetings, maintaining detailed records of discussions and action items. 
  • Contribute to the assessment of risk identification, project objectives, scheduling constraints, and adherence to contractual obligations and company policies 
  • Provide guidance to Construction Engineers and Field Engineers through project schedules while verifying earned-value assumptions and productivity claims 
  • Participate in analyzing personnel, equipment, and material failures and help implement appropriate corrective measures 
  • Provide technical guidance to the Self-Perform construction department Develop, publish, and distribute construction specification manuals to ensure adherence to construction requirements, minimize construction costs, and ensure compliance with industry standards and codes. 
  • Regular attendance, in accordance with company's attendance policy and supervisory assignment, is an essential job duty requirement for this position 

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five to eight years of construction experience 
  • Five years of experience in renewable construction 
  • Project Management experience preferred 
  • BS in Engineering or like experience 
  • Experience in policy creation, upkeep, and execution 
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage change and priorities in a dynamic environment 
  • HeavyJob production tracking and time-keeping experience 
  • Microsoft Office Suite 
  • P6 Scheduling 

  • The above-listed salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide. The salary range shared in the job description is for the listed position and only pertains to the candidate if they work in Irvine, CA. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to internal pay equity, skill set, education, licenses and certifications, geographic location, essential job duties and requirements, and the necessary experience relative to the job’s minimum qualifications. An additional discretionary bonus structure or incentives may be offered as part of the overall compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, dental, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.

    ·  Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far
    ·  Climb: occasionally ascends/descends on stairway to get to office upper and lower floors
    ·  Travel: review above travel requirement for this position
