Sr. HCM Tech Analyst I (Workday)

About the Role:

The Sr. HCM Tech Analyst - Workday position serves as a subject matter expert in the Workday HCM system, leading the operations pod for various modules such as Recruiting, Core HCM, Compensation, Performance and Talent, Time Tracking, payroll, benefits, and absence. This lead role entails managing support, new development, and enhancements to existing HCM processes. The candidate will also supervise the JIRA ticketing process, ensuring smooth queue management for all HCL process-related issues.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Supervise day-to-day operational support across various modules including Recruiting, Core HCM, Compensation, Performance and Talent, Time Tracking, and Absence.
  • Collaborate closely with HR module leaders to establish SLAs and coordinate team efforts to meet them.
  • Provide guidance to junior Workday analysts in configuration and solutioning activities.
  • Engage with business users to understand new report requirements and enhancements.
  • Lead system configuration, UAT testing, and management of business processes (workflow).
  • Manage Workday R1 and R2 release management, reviewing release summaries and readiness documents from solution vendors.
  • Oversee Workday Security and Quarterly audit processes.
  • Lead internal unit testing/QA and support users during UAT.
  • Mentor HR Technology Analysts, sharing expertise in Workday.
  • Identify new features and functionality, as well as enhancement solutions from Workday, and assess impacts on downstream systems.
  • Develop requirements, design documents, UAT test scripts, and user reference guides.
  • Research solutions and propose process enhancements through browsing the Workday Community.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent education and experience, is essential for fulfilling the key responsibilities of the role.
  • Over 6 years of hands-on experience in the Workday system, including supervisory roles involving HR Tech Analysts.
  • Proficiency in various Workday modules such as Recruiting, Core HCM, Compensation, and Performance/Talent.
  • Additional experience in Time Tracking, Absence, Payroll, Benefits, and advanced compensation is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Workday business processes and core setup.
  • Proven ability to create intricate reports and Analytical Dashboards.
  • Expertise in Security framework implementation and configuration.
  • Experience with EIB, Calculated Fields, and Web services.
  • Required certifications: Partner or Pro certifications in one or more Workday modules.
  • At least one full implementation of Workday, demonstrating configuration and operational support capabilities.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system requirements effectively.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • A keen desire and readiness to learn new tools, techniques, concepts, and methodologies.
