The Specialist II, Case Management is responsible for providing support to the underwriting team by performing a variety of tasks to facilitate new and renewal business, policy issuance and maintenance, metrics tracking, and participating in underwriting projects.  

***Please be advised that the selected candidate is expected to come into the office 1 day a week at the Garden City, NY office.

Description 

The Specialist II, Case Management is responsible for providing support to the underwriting team by performing a variety of tasks to facilitate new and renewal business, policy issuance and maintenance, metrics tracking, and participating in underwriting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain various departmental Outlook inboxes
  • Route risk involved matters to departmental staff
  • Set up underwriting files and applications by obtaining required documents and updating appropriate systems 
  • Participate in updates and testing of insurance administration systems
  • Issue and send rate endorsements within required timeframes
  • Complete assignments in an accurate and timely manner and according to pre-established guidelines and workflows as assigned by the department 
  • Assist in maintaining and updating select Underwriting reports and standard operating procedures
  • Generate reports with various frequencies to support underwriting functions and provide status updates
  • Interact and work with various internal stakeholders, as needed

  • Qualifications/Education

  • 0-2 years of insurance industry experience preferred
  • Associate degree or higher required in a related field


  • Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Capable of working both independently as well as on a team 
  • Ability to multi-task and perform under tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office with a concentration in Excel
