Software Engineer (Frontend)

Description

FindMine Inc., is looking for a talented front-end engineer comfortable with implementing pixel-perfect UIs, creating performant web applications, and working with complex front-end business logic that flows throughout the FindMine system. Our front-end applications are built using Angular and React utilizing both RESTful and GraphQL APIs.

We need an individual who is comfortable working on an existing codebase, is a quick learner, can follow existing design patterns, has an eye for design and UX, and is also comfortable coming to the table with ideas on how to optimize and build new features. A key skill we are looking for is being able to communicate and document new features built to ensure people across the business can effectively communicate how new features work. We use Notion as our knowledge base.

The ideal candidate has also been exposed to the complexities and inherent CSS integration issues of embedding JavaScript applications within foreign client websites. Code cleanliness, CSS best practices, legacy support (IE8+), and accessibility are paramount.

Responsibilities

Create pixel-perfect UIs with an emphasis on UX.

Architect, design, develop, and deploy JavaScript applications that serve millions of users.

Build platform features in our internal and external tools that make life easier for users working in other FindMine teams, and those working for our biggest clients.

Help us materialize our long-term SaaS platform vision by turning it into tactical goals and requirements.

Work with cutting-edge technology to solve interesting and challenging problems.

Requirements

Experience in front-end architecture and design, building responsive web applications using JavaScript

Owning and shipping features from inception to implementation aimed at expanding or improving user-facing capabilities and UI/UX development

Obsessed with code quality and shipping high-quality, tested code

Eagerness to continuously improve our systems by leaving the grass greener on any piece of the platform you touch

Passionate mentor and advocate for your technological vision while remaining respectful and open to learning from other peoples’ perspectives

Comfortable in a startup environment, and willing to build processes from scratch in a high-paced environment

5+ Years Experience In

TypeScript

JavaScript with knowledge of at least one modern framework (Angular, React, Vue.js, etc.)

Built-in browser APIs and optimizing front-end performance of web applications

HTML and CSS including layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility

Debugging or benchmarking

Familiarity with both RESTful and GraphQL APIs

Proficiency with Git

Nice to Haves

Experience in building UI components

Professional experience using CSS preprocessors like SASS or CSS in JS libraries like styled-components

Strong familiarity with back-end technologies, specifically NoSQL database products like MongoDB

API design and architecture

Experience using Github Actions, ArgoCD, or other continuous integration tools

Solid understanding of Docker

Exposure to Datadog
