The Snr. Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire project management process, from initiation to go live of an effort. This involves leading and directing various teams (business, technical, documentation, testing, training, etc.) in order to meet expectations and timelines. They will develop detailed project plans and schedules, track project milestones, maintain appropriate leadership dashboards, and provide detailed status reports to various levels of stakeholders.
The ideal candidate must be capable of managing multiple technical projects with a variety of teams and technical platforms while simultaneously maintaining strong organizational skills. In addition to the management of technical projects, the Senior Project Manager is also expected to be able to coordinate and inform updates to internal Project Management Office processes and reporting metrics for continuous process improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Provide end to end life cycle management of Internal IT efforts from ideation through implementation phase.
- Guide internal customers through the project life cycle, including requirements gathering, testing, documentation, change coordination, go-live, and post-implementation support
- Assessing project resources and needs, including coordination with project stakeholders to ensure all needs are met
- Coordinating with project teams to ensure expectations are clear, setup/maintenance of appropriate project initiatives/epics/user stories, and overseeing quality and risk management
- Facilitate, manage, and report status on all phases of the project lifecycle and lead the stakeholder team(s) through each phase including - Gating, Requirements, Design, Development, Testing and delivery
- Work with cross channel business units to secure necessary strategic alignment and deliver the best customer experience.
- Work with cross functional IT application teams to assess impacts, ensure engagement and timely delivery of IT initiatives
- Facilitate and manage the engagement of all impacting stakeholder teams (such as IT, Legal, Finance, Customer Service QA/UAT, Security, Network, external vendors etc.,) to deliver a quality product or solution
- Develop, manage and control a project delivery plan and report critical milestone updates to leadership
- Lead the project team through any roadblocks and ensure progress in working with IT leadership for resolutions
- Track program/project level status and metrics to communicate progress/roadblocks, revalidate execution methods where needed and streamline delivery aligned with projected ROI
- Document and manage all program/project documentation
- Identify and document process improvements/changes that help streamline and improve time management
- Manage goals, priorities, escalations, volumes, aged projects, and other associated processes and metrics
- Provide recommendations to leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of new or modified policies, practices, and procedures
- Monitor and audit project or program milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of project schedule and identify ways to resolve schedule issues, provide required project status reporting, assess variances from the project plan, gather metrics, and develop and implement changes as necessary to ensure that the project remains within specified scope and is within time, cost, and quality objectives
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant Program/Project Management experience
- Experience with Gmail and Google Docs
- Experience with Mac and Apple products
- Experience with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Experience with Project Management tools, such as JIRA, MS Project, and Smartsheets.
- Demonstrated ability to enlist support across functional teams within a matrix organization to obtain results.
- Experience with Agile and other structured methodologies (i.e., Scrum, Waterfall, Iterative, RUP, or PMI).
- Experience with software end-user change management strategy and execution.
- PMP Certification Preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders globally.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, and drive team performance.
- Strength in problem definition, resolution, and risk assessment.
- Experience in project management, business analysis, and technical project delivery.
- Effective team collaboration and cross-functional communication.
- History of successfully managing multiple technical projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong project management skills, proficiency in context switching and driving team performance, even with limited access to technical systems where work is being performed.
- A proven track record of delivering projects on time, while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
- Working knowledge of common project management methodologies and their standards.
