MongoDB is seeking a UI Engineer to join the Design Systems Team. You will be joining a team of cross-functional designers and engineers focused on helping the company scale our product ecosystem, and the fast-evolving and growing teams behind them. We create libraries and guidelines that engineers and designers across MongoDB use to build consistent, accessible, and delightful experiences.
We’re seeking an engineer to help take the Design Systems engineering team to the next level, strengthening and enhancing the frontend experience for both our valued customers and the talented engineers at MongoDB.
This role can be based out of our New York City or remotely in the US.
Our ideal candidate:
- Has extensive industry experience working on complex, production-ready web applications
- Deeply understands JavaScript and is familiar with modern JavaScript APIs and syntax
- Is highly experienced in building interactive applications using React
- Has a robust understanding of HTML and CSS core concepts and best practices
- Is knowledgeable about a wide range of web and internet technologies
- Has a demonstrated history of creating resilient, scalable, and maintainable software
- Has experience building internal tools
- Is meticulous in attention to detail, especially when working with design specifications
- Is experienced in configuring and debugging frontend tooling. Examples include: TypeScript, Rollup, Webpack, Emotion CSS, Jest, React Testing Library
- Has at least 3 years of experience as a software engineer

- Orchestrate large-scale features and modernizations by working across product teams

- Engage cross-functionally with teams to ensure the seamless integration of the design system across all products, maximizing its impact
