About the role:
The Routing team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Samsara’s routing product. The routing product helps dispatchers monitor their fleets and helps make it easier for drivers to accomplish their goals. In this role, you will help build new features and products to delight vehicle drivers who use the Samsara mobile app.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada or the United States except the San Francisco Bay and NYC Metro Area.

In this role, you will:
- Architect, design, and develop systems for powering the core of Samsara’s new routing products
- Build native and full-stack features that simplify our drivers’ workflows and increase their safety
- Develop plans and execute on the technical roadmap for solving performance and scalability challenges associated with high growth
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 4 or more years of software engineering experience
- Strong programming/coding fundamentals
An ideal candidate also has:
- Experience building mobile apps
- Experience using react-native
- Enjoys understanding users and what would make their day to day processes easier
- Loves shipping high-quality features that are immediately used by our customers
- Seeks to iterate on new products based on customer feedback
