What We're Looking For
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Test (a.k.a SDET) to support our Payments platform team supporting the creating and evolving of a platform to enable automated test and ensure the quality and reliability of our payments processes.
Key responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain test platforms, and frameworks for frontend and backend systems.
Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD process and observability platform.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test strategies and ensure comprehensive test coverage for new features and products.
Write unit, component, integration, UI/UX, API, e2e, and contract tests.
Identify potential test gaps and propose solutions to address them.
Work closely with software engineers to understand architecture, code structure, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Participate in design and code reviews to promote quality and identify potential test requirements.
Identify, log, and track defects, ensuring timely resolution and contributing to high product quality.
Analyze test results and provide regular reports on test coverage, defects, and overall quality metrics. Make it automated as a part of the testing platform.
Provide 2nd level of support and bug fixing as a member of the site reliability process.
Writing, maintaining, and supporting test documentation.
Perform load, scalability, and performance testing.
Monitor production and test environment health.
Required skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test or in a similar role.
Proven experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
Strong proficiency in a programming language such as Java.
Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI) and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.
Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.
Proficiency in SQL.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, RestAssured).
Experience with test visibility within Observability platforms like Datadog, grafana, etc.
Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
In-depth knowledge of software testing methodologies.
In-depth knowledge of the testing pyramid with experience to write tests for each level.
English language proficiency (intermediate level or above), both written and spoken.
