Multiple positions available. Develop new features for Tinder. Improve subscriber retention while driving subscriptions and reducing churn. Help the company scale to meet the ever-growing Tinder user base and global audience. Gain exposure to terabytes of data including billions of swipes per day. Build tools, infrastructure, and software systems to ensure 100% uptime of Tinder for all users across the world. Modify existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware and improve performance. Scale existing software system to meet the extraordinary application demand. Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Build quality tools and frameworks to ensure a high-quality product. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met. Problem solve software issues to support high traffic application. Position allows telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Salary: $140,000 - $223,000 per year.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Software engineer, backend engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as Software engineer, backend engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving backend software engineering.
Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience performing backend software engineering (including planning, analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems or applications); 2 years of professional experience designing and debugging backend interfaces for direct consumer-facing features (Business to Consumer) built on iOS and Android for a global tech company; 2 years of professional experience using backend languages (including JavaScript) to design, develop, and modify software systems; 2 years of professional experience writing comprehensive unit and regression tests; 2 years of professional experience developing large-scale (1,000+) distributed real-time systems; 2 years of professional experience using Application Programming Interface (API) to design, develop, and modify software systems; 2 years of professional experience implementing scale and volume mobile backed systems; and 1 year of professional experience operating NoSQL databases.
