About This Job
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll contribute to driving forward our Payments products of both card present and not present solutions and collaborate with engineers on the team along the way. You will have the opportunity to leverage your technical skills and experience to directly impact the quality and scalability of our products. You’ll have the chance to work on everything from payment processing, fraud prevention, ach-batching, loyalty incentives and a digital wallet. What You'll Do...
- Develop mission-critical back-end services, including API integrations with third-party platforms and core consumer APIs
- Contribute to core applications in Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, gRPC, PostgreSQL and React within high-scale, distributed systems
- Work closely with our Product team in scoping and refining customer-facing features
- Mentor and coach other engineers
- Collaborate with the team to plan and estimate work
- Positively contribute to our culture and our processes
What You Bring...
- Deep understanding of backend server languages (Ruby/Node/Python/C#/etc.) and general software best practices
- Experience with Ruby, relational and non-relational databases, and working in distributed systems
- You have experience designing and extending scalable data models and the data stores they depend on
- You take pride in the code you write - it's clean, tested, organized, and elegant
- Self-starter - you're proactive and are able to start projects and tasks without constant direction
- Quick learner - you pick up new frameworks and technologies quickly
- Great communication skills
- You want to work in an agile environment - we move quickly and ship code often
- 5-8 years of development experience
It's a bonus if you...
- Have built software in the cannabis or payments space
- Have experience building and monitoring infrastructure on cloud-native hosting providers (AWS)
- Have deep experience with third-party integrations
- Contribute regularly to open-source projects
You’ll Get…
We are targeting a starting salary of $165,000 based on the intended level for this role. There may be flexibility on individual compensation packages based candidate skill set, experience, qualifications and other position-related factors.
