About the Role:
Planet is looking for a Senior Sales Engineer in the South Asian region to join our Pre-Sales & Services. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will actively engage and lead strategic sales engagements to drive both the technical and business value to build win. You will also be leading the technical aspect of key customers enquiry throughout the business cycle including post sales.
This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely in India.
Impact You’ll Own:
- Build and deliver presentations and product demonstrations highlighting technical capabilities of Planet’s platform and our ability to fulfill customer’s business needs.
- Create relationships with customers’ technical and management staff as a trusted advisor to their business.
- Act as an advisor to the customer to recommend a solutions architecture that fits their business challenges
- Respond to tenders, RFI’s, RFP’s, proposals with respect to product/solution information.
- Define the requirements and scope of work for non-standard services.
- Work with internal Sales teams to determine account development plans and execute a strategy to engage customers and prospects.
- Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including Sales leaders, Customer Success, Product Management, and Business Development to act as the voice of the customer.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales and operational objectives assigned by management.
- Interface with all Sales Engineers globally, building a community to improve the team’s technical and sales skills.
- Interface with the Professional Services TeamProfessional Consultants and Project Managers globally, building non standard custom capabilities to support delivery of Planet Services
- Experience presenting to large audience and senior executives
What You Bring:
- 6-8 years of total relevant experience with at least 6+ of this in GIS or remote sensing
- Experience using GIS tools (i.e. ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, etc)
- Masters degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- Fluent in English
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience in a customer-facing role (i.e Sales, pre-sales, customer support, consulting) in the South Asian region, especially the India market.
- Experience with application or script development in Python, Java, Javascript, or C#, Sentinel Hub, QGIS, ArcGIS Platform, ENVIi, and/or Erdas Imagine
- Experience integrating with cloud platforms via REST API’s
- Experience working with satellite remote sensing data
- Fluent in Hindi to liaise with customers
