Senior Sales Analyst, Advertising Solutions (Quests)

Discord is on the lookout for a Senior Sales Analyst to join our Sales team. Reporting to the Head of Sales & Strategy, this individual will play a pivotal role in building and scaling Discord’s digital media sales efforts.

As a Senior Sales Analyst, you will provide analytics support to the sales team throughout the entire client lifecycles. This can include providing audience insights that informs an account team’s pre-sale & post sale strategy; conducting performance analysis to support account manager optimization recommendations during campaign flights, and developing benchmark insights that frame campaign outcomes for clients.

You will leverage your expertise in digital advertising and media analytics skills to provide the sales team with powerful insights that help them offer clients innovative campaign solutions, compelling proposals, and actionable wrap-reports. As a trusted partner to the sales teams, your contributions to the sales process (pre and post) will support Discord in differentiating itself and successfully capture media spend from high-profile brands and advertisers. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborate with the sales team as well as liaise with clients to understand their strategic goals and objectives by analyzing RPFs and client briefs.
  • Leverage multiple data sources to develop insight regarding audience sizing, profiles, and behaviors and work with sales to team to weave those insights into high-impact proposals.
  • Collect and aggregate media performance data from multiple sources, including ad platforms and analytics tools.
  • Work closely with internal XFN teams (product, marketing, engineer) to continually improve and update media and data analysis efforts
  • Contribute to preparing proposals & reports to clients in a clear and compelling manner, articulating the value and benefits of Discord’s advertising solutions.
  • Contribute to analysis that assists the sales team in price negotiations and campaign sizing
  • Build templates, establish best practices and document learnings that empowers the sales team with self-service analysis capabilities.
  • Participate in market research & analysis to understand industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape including competitor performance benchmarks to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of digital media trends, technologies, and competitive landscape.

What you should have:

  • 8+ years of proven experience in digital media analysis, sales planning, ad operations or related roles within the online advertising industry.
  • Strong understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, metrics and analytics.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools, advanced analytic methods, and platforms such as Google Analytics, Excel, and data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong communication skills & experience in presenting to clients & partners.
  • Familiarity with online advertising platforms, ad measurement platforms, and media planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving results for clients. 
  • Superb attention to detail and organizational skills.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $167,500 to $184,250 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include equity, or benefits.
