We're looking for a motivated Senior Revenue Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll see to all day-to-day revenue and accounts receivable activities. In addition, you will be involved in the monthly financial close and developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.

What you’ll do as the Senior Revenue Accountant at Proof:
Review and interpret customer contracts and sales agreements to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines.Oversee and manage the company’s revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP standards.Identify performance obligations, transaction prices, and contract costs in customer agreements.Analyze variable consideration (e.g., discounts, rebates, or penalties) and determine its impact on revenue recognition.Monitor and track deferred revenue, ensuring proper allocation and revenue recognition over the subscription or contract period.Maintain detailed records of revenue recognition schedules, journal entries, and other accounting documentation.Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.Serve as a backup for commission calculations.Support and manage the preparation and execution of statutory audits.Collaborate and coordinate with various cross-functional teams within the company.Co-ordinate internally with the finance team on AR analysis to identify overdue payments and to ensure appropriate reserve creation.Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested.
Month-End Close:
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual close procedures for revenue, including preparation of revenue-related journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.Ensure that revenue transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.Prepare and analyze monthly revenue reports and provide explanations for significant variances to management.Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements related to revenue and deferred revenue balances.
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experienceEducational background in Accounting, Finance, Related field, or comparable hands-on work experienceStrong analytical and reporting skillsThorough knowledge of accounting principles and proceduresExcellent accounting software user and administration skillsExperience working in fast paced, start up environmentPrior experience in SaaS company preferredProven ability to lead and work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environmentStrong communication skillsAbility to prioritize and build consensus within multidisciplinary teamsSelf-starter mentality, with an eye for detailExperience working in a Mac-based environment is a plus.
