About the role:
Help create innovative user experiences that combine what users need with what the business aims for, in Samsara’s Go-To-Market systems (GTMS). As a Senior Product Designer II, you’ll shape how our Sellers and Customers use our services, using your expertise in design principles.
Your knowledge of the Salesforce platform and its Lightning Design System will improve our offerings continuously, solving tough problems and thinking strategically. Your role will be vital in making sure our sellers and customers enjoy using our services. You’ll find out what sellers and customers really need through research and create prototypes to see how we can make Sales and Quote to Cash processes better.

In this role, you will:
- Advanced Information Architecture and Storyboarding: Apply advanced knowledge of information architecture and storyboarding to create user-centric designs that enhance navigation, findability, and overall user satisfaction.
- Data-Driven Design: Conduct data-driven analyses to inform design decisions and use data to transform raw information into valuable insights to inform decision-making.
- Inclusive Design Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate inclusive design principles and accessibility guidelines to ensure our products and services cater to a diverse range of users.
- Iterative Design Mindset: Operate with an iterative design mindset and incorporate user feedback and insights to continuously improve the overall user experience of our offerings.
- Expertise in Design Systems: Apply expertise in design systems by building flexible and scalable systems across multiple devices and use cases. Identify opportunities for consistency, balance competing needs, and recognize dependencies across teams.
- Strong Interaction & Visual Design Skills: Showcase strong interaction and visual design skills by adhering to best practices, creating clean, modern UI systems, and ensuring accessibility and performance standards. Utilize customer understanding and data to guide decisions and measure success.
- Collaboration and Advocacy: Collaborate across teams to uncover needs, drive alignment, and generate enthusiasm for design system adoption. Lead in establishing and enforcing healthy processes, driving alignment, and making an impact within a dynamic organization.
- Cultural Principles Championing: Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Bachelor Degree
- 7+ years experience designing web & mobile applications
- 3+ years experience with a primary focus on GTM processes (Salesforce preferred)
- Expertise in interaction and visual design
- Expertise with Figma, particularly in how best to enable engineering and design teams for heavy component usage.
- Portfolio showcasing your craft, ability to solve user-problems, and quantified impact
An ideal candidate also has:
- Bachelor Degree in Design
- Craft: Proven ability to evolve platforms with clean, modern UX & UI patterns.
- Customer-centric: Bias towards engaging with customers (internal and external) to understand needs and validate designs
