We are seeking a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager for our Network Growth engineering organization. In this role, you will be responsible for building scalable and efficient solutions to Affirm’s wallet and platform integrations, overseeing all engineering activities, ensuring technical excellence, and achieving the KPIs set for the organization. Our mission is to be the engine of profitable growth for Affirm, growing the merchant and consumer network along the way.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and lead a team of engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and career development support.
- Collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define project priorities, resource allocation, and timelines.
- Drive the engineering team to deliver high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
- Create a long term technical roadmap that enables the team to keep up with our fast growing business
- Implement best practices in software development, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the engineering team.
- Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues.
- Participate in strategic planning and resource management discussions with senior leadership.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive team environment where diverse perspectives are valued.
What We Look For
- Proven experience (3+ years) in a senior engineering management role, leading teams in software development or related fields.
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must be proficient in asynchronous communication – written tech specs, RFCs, project plans, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Passion for working with cross-functional teams including other engineering teams across Affirm and external Partners
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, and retaining top engineering talent.
- Python/Kotlin development experience along with AWS/or other cloud providers
- This position requires either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA On Target Earnings (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $260,000 - $310,000
USA On Target Earnings (all other U.S. states) per year: $232,000 - $282,000
