Senior Manager, Sales Operations

About the role:

Samsara is looking for a Sales Operations leader to play a critical role in scaling systems, processes, and policies for our Global Sales organization. This role will partner with senior leaders across Samsara’s go-to-market teams to design, build, and run critical business capabilities for our world-class sales organization. This leader will have an outsized impact on the future of our sales organization by helping us Build for The Long Term as we grow past $1BN in revenue. The ideal candidate has experience driving transformative initiatives that bring together people, processes, and technology into elegant solutions to business problems related to all aspects of the pre-sales customer journey.

In this role, you will: 

  • Lead and Develop a team to accelerate the overall efficiency and productivity of sales teams
  • Develop standards for intake, prioritization, process documentation and continuous improvement for the processes your team owns 
  • Identify and report on key performance metrics regarding process efficiency and quality
  • Use data to identify and execute opportunities for continuous process improvement
  • Build strong relationships and standards for cross-functional collaboration with key partners in Sales Operations, Finance, Customer Success, Legal and other teams
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues and support best practices
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

Minimum requirements for this role: 

  • 6+ years of experience in a Sales Operations leadership role or experience in similar growth or operations roles in a dynamic environment, including 2+ years as a people leader
  • Experience developing and maintaining documentation of complex, cross-functional business processes (Six Sigma Certification or equivalent experience is a plus)
  • Deep understanding of typical customer contract structures in a SaaS environment
  • Proficiency in Salesforce.com, Netsuite (or similar) and the overall sales technology ecosystem
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from a top university; business, finance, economics, business, or engineering focus is a plus; MBA is optional
