About the role:
The Finance & Strategy (F&S) team’s mission is to optimize Samsara’s capital allocation through high-quality data analysis, proactive and strategic business partnering and influencing, and scalable processes & systems. We are responsible for:
- Driving the business towards the optimal long-term operating plan
- Delivering an accurate forecast & annual operating plan and ensuring the business meets or beats that plan
- Scaling F&S systems & processes and driving cross-functional collaboration
Our team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to partner with our global go-to-market (GTM) organization and support finance-led initiatives tied to the company’s top line. The team collaborates cross-functionally with sales leaders, revenue operations, product, and marketing to perform financial and strategic analyses to support decision-making and accelerate growth.
You will drive quantitative & qualitative analysis to inform strategic GTM choices and identify growth & optimization opportunities. This role involves tracking our Sales P&L forecasts and measuring the unit economics & KPIs mapped to our GTM approach. Outputs the team currently supports have audiences that include the CFO, President of Field Operations, CMO, and other senior executives who help inform key business decisions.
The ideal candidate is scrappy, enjoys understanding metrics that drive the business, thrives in uncertainty, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously. This role will report to the Director of GTM Finance & Strategy and is a highly visible role in the organization involving close partnership with senior business leaders across Samsara.
This role is open to candidates residing in the US or Canada except the San Francisco Bay Area (125 mi. radius from 1 De Haro St, San Francisco) and NYC Metro Area (50 mi. radius from 131 W 55th St, New York).

In this role, you will:
- Partner closely with leaders across our Sales & Customer Outcomes teams to drive strategic decision-making, investment prioritization, and long-range planning
- Support the monthly top-line forecast & prepare related reports on key GTM KPIs
- Serve as a key point of contact for questions around the F&S team’s Sales financial forecast
- Analyze potential new GTM channels to complement our existing direct sales and partner sales motion
- Perform data-driven analysis to identify, evaluate and execute on value creation initiatives, investment opportunities and risk mitigation strategies
- Build scalable processes and systems to enhance financial visibility, control and planning effectiveness that support the next wave of Samsara’s growth

Minimum requirements for the role:
- 2+ years of experience in Strategic Finance, FP&A, Investment Banking, and/or management consulting
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong financial modeling and analysis capabilities, including advanced Excel / Google Sheets and Powerpoint / Google Slides skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, often changing environment
- Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable presenting to senior management
- Must be a proactive & highly organized self-starter, able to work independently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail
An ideal candidate also has:
- Industry experience in SaaS-based technology companies
- Undergraduate degree in finance / economics / accounting / mathematics / computer science preferred
- Prior experience using NetSuite, Workday, Salesforce, Adaptive Planning, and Tableau
