As a Sr Data Scientist, you will be focusing on solving data and engineering problems that allow Hopper to offer products that help our customers navigate common travel headaches (like flight delays, cancellations, or price anxiety), and ultimately get where they want to be.
This role will touch all of Hopper’s fintech products and be focused on delivering Hopper’s products to B2B partners. Your primary focus will be improving upon existing ML pricing models as well as developing and deploying new frameworks for us to better price our products.
You will own the entire model development, deployment, and performance tracking for several B2B partners.

What would your day-to-day look like:
Ensure we are priced correctly based on changing demand environments and external conditions. Identify segments where we are mispriced and deploy scalable solutions to correct pricing modelsThink beyond “just the model” by challenging existing product construction and UX, and building data-backed business cases to ship alternatives that improve the customer experienceInitiate, develop, and maintain data pipelines that power our decision makingMeasure business performance by identifying and refining KPI metrics and creating reporting frameworks to continuously monitor themFind new opportunities for revenue growth by becoming the expert on our data and customers
An ideal candidate has:
A proven track record of solving complex problems with in depth understanding of data, product and business impactHigh attention to detail and ability to create scalable data solutionsStrong creative problem-solving skills and critical thinking competenciesAbility to effectively communicate pricing decisions and performance to executive-level stakeholdersDesigned, implemented, and deployed pricing models into production using modern technologies Fluency in using SQL for data creation, maintenance and analysisHigh proficiency in PythonExperience with data visualization to convey ML models behavior and business insightsWorked on a consumer product and has shipped high impact models at scale
