The position
It’s an exciting time to join Remote and make a personal difference in the global employment space as a Senior Content Designer on our Design team.
User experience is at the forefront of how we create intuitive, innovative, and beautiful products that people can easily use. As a Senior Content Designer, you will work with product designers, researchers, product managers, engineers, legal partners, and marketers to design clear, usable experiences for Remote’s global HR platform.
This is not a marketing role. Content designers at Remote work in product design and UX.
Requirements
- Experience working as a UX content designer, UX writer, or UX content strategist on a product design team. It’s a plus if you’ve worked in a high-growth tech startup.
- A portfolio of work that demonstrates your ability to simplify complexity, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and craft content that helps users get stuff done.
- Experience with improving information architecture for complex software products.
- Ability to influence stakeholders across disciplines and leverage data to impact product roadmaps and strategy.
- Ability to write everything the user experience requires, including navigation items, button labels, tooltips, headlines, intro copy, error messages.
- Ability to create measurable impact under minimal supervision.
- You care deeply about accessibility, diversity, and inclusion.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- It's a plus if you have experience working remotely, especially in human resources technology or related fields like FinTech.
- Content Designers at Remote have editing access to the company’s codebase and are empowered to proactively make content improvements in the code. If you’ve never done that before, that’s okay! We have a bunch of resources to help you out. All you need is a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with design, product, engineering, and research to solve user problems and design delightful experiences.
- Shape user flows, interactions, messaging, and microcopy within product interfaces.
- Work with other content designers to define a cohesive voice, terminology, and narrative that scales across product verticals.
- Increase the level of team maturity. You will drive yourself and your peers to deliver excellent work while always striving to improve the ways we work.
- Lead content audits to identify opportunities and drive consistency across the product.
- Contribute to and lead research projects aimed at uncovering our users’ needs and the problems we need to solve to meet those needs.
- Contribute to technical documentation for our ecosystem products.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce. We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $57,350 to $129,050 USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
