About the role:
We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Communications Manager to join our Internal Communications team in a role to be a strategic communications business partner to our R&D organization, which includes Product, Engineering, and Hardware teams. This is a great opportunity to help build and shape internal communications for a high-growth organization.
This role is open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area.

In this role, you will:
- Define and execute the internal communications strategy for global R&D organization, that will drive clarity around strategic priorities, create connection to our customers and demonstrate customer impact, and support culture and change initiatives for this fast-growing, global team. You will work in close partnership with Chief Product Officer Executive Communications to align on a comprehensive communications approach for the organization.
- Support a wide range of internal communications – from change communications to updates from around the organization – working closely with key stakeholders such as leadership, People Partners, etc. You should be as comfortable working on an internal comms strategy as you are rolling up your sleeves and producing an organizational meeting, announcement, newsletter, or video.
- Work closely with R&D leaders to advise on communications strategy/approach, and manage a communications calendar to streamline communication.
- Keep a pulse on the organization and run feedback loops as you go, in order to optimize communications updates and channels.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- 8+ years of experience including building and executing strategic internal communications programs, change management, and communications supporting global product and engineering teams.
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and presentation skills (written, verbal, and visual) with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, concise, and compelling messages.
- Experience partnering and proven track record working cross-functionally.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with continuous change.
- Ability to quickly solve problems and balance the needs of the business with delivering a great employee experience.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Tech and SaaS company experience (strongly preferred).
