The Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE): Works with data analytics team(s), leveraging data warehouses by streamlining business reporting needs and improving the current reporting models. They assist in data management by converting complex raw data into accessible data. Business intelligence engineers will source, design, and build foundational data sets to power product analytics data modeling, experimentation, reports, and data warehouses. BI engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand the various business needs and requirements and deliver scalable solutions. A BI engineer can develop project management frameworks and development processes, monitoring the entire data framework, identifying, reporting requirements, and resolving data challenges.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understand business objectives, define performance metrics, and drive data-driven strategies to achieve them.
- Work cross-functionally to support multiple key stakeholders and provide insights.
- Work with Data Engineers, Data Warehouse Developers, and Data Architects to create Business Intelligence visualizations.
- Evaluate data warehouse design and components, relational database management systems, and database design solutions.
- Perform complex data analysis, identify the root cause of system and process issues, and develop solutions.
- Can assess the end-to-end process and identify opportunities for enhancement; develop dashboards and report insights.
- Define objectives per business requirements; assist business analysts, data analysts, and data scientists in analyzing the data.
- Knowledge in statistical analysis, regression modeling and forecasting, data mining, financial analysis, and demand modeling (preferred)
- Experience in large-scale datasets, analyzing data to solve business problems, and presenting impactful insights.
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and NoSQL tools used in data modeling and data mining processes.
- Experience in data warehousing and understanding of data extraction techniques like ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) processing.
- Ability to collaborate with multiple business partners and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpret insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
- Technical leadership to mentor other engineers to ensure best practices.
- Actively participate in the change management process as business and technical scope is adjusted;

Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science OR comparable knowledge and job experience.5+ years of experience in data analysis and developing technological business strategies and dashboards.
- Knowledge of SQL and cloud data warehousing technologies, including Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Strong experience with Excel
- Strong analytical mindset and creative problem-solving skills.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python
- Experience in using BI and data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, Power Automate, Looker, and QuickSight.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions.
- Travel for this position will include less than 10% locally usually for training purposes.
