Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Analyst to join our Program Operations Strategy team.

About the role

The Senior Analyst, Program Operations Strategy supports developing and executing on performance measurement and value creation across the Program Operations team. These include identifying and evaluating opportunities to make care more affordable for members, and to improve efficiencies across Oscar’s Behavioral Health, Transplant, and Pharmacy operations. Senior Analyst, Program Operations Strategy plays a role in the support and future development of the Program Operations organization by generating data-driven insights and identifying compelling opportunities and strategies to enhance Oscar’s operational performance and the experiences of its members.

You will report to the Director Program Operations Strategy.

Work Location: 

Oscar is a blended work culture where everyone, regardless of work type or location, feels connected to their teammates, our culture and our mission. 

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.  

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $76,800 - $100,800 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $69,120 - $90,720 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support to identify opportunities, develop strategies, and prioritize initiatives based on team or organizational opportunities, growth targets, and trends.
  •  Works with their lead to evaluate overall departmental performance by supporting the creation, gathering, analyzing and interpreting of data and metrics as well as assisting in development of departmental metrics and implementation of mitigation strategies
  •  With support from their leader, works with all relevant internal stakeholder groups to provide support and insight in formulating proactive implementation, communications, and program strategies for successful change management and risk mitigation initiatives 
  • Maintain relationships with a variety of cross functional teams to achieve results for essential programs
  • Translate data analysis into synthesized, visually appealing insights and conclusions
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years commensurate experience
  • 1+ years experience in consulting, corporate strategy, market development, finance, or a related field 
  • 1+ years experience in Excel and Powerpoint, demonstrating proficiency in building models and generating reports, analyzing large datasets, using pivot tables, formulas, and conditional formatting. 
  • 1+ years Experience synthesizing and summarizing findings through data visualizations and effective storytelling
  • 1+ years experience running data and financial analyses and working cross-functionally to drive opportunities and increase growth & profitability
  • 1+ years experience in constructing presentation materials aimed at Senior Leadership

Bonus Points

  • Healthcare experience and an understanding of provider/payer market, particularly in the ACA marketplace, is strongly preferred
  • Management consulting, market research, or data analysis experience
  • Experience with Tableau
