We’re Looking For A: Research Specialist who will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of claims associated with the diverse range of products, including dietary supplements, cosmetics, and pet food/treats. This role will be responsible for database management, claim verification and updates, legal compliance, and collaboration on new product development.
Location: Remote (Office in Woodland Hills, CA)
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with product development, regulatory and copywriting departments to establish a robust claims database with supporting research literature for products including dietary supplements, cosmetics and pet food/treats, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Analyze existing and ongoing claims, sourcing recent studies and other materials to substantiate them and continuously update our database with relevant information.
- Work closely with the legal and regulatory teams to quickly verify claims flagged during the review process, ensuring they are well-substantiated and compliant with FTC regulations.
- Collaborating with the product department, regulatory and copywriting departments when creating new products and coming up with claims.

- Strong research skills, with the ability to critically evaluate scientific literature and source relevant information.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to claims substantiation, particularly in the fields of dietary supplements, cosmetics, or pet products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and teams.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to prioritize numerous tasks and complete them properly under time constraints.
- A solutions-oriented individual with a "hands-on" energetic approach and style.
- Responsive, approachable, and collaborative work style.
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition related field or biological sciences (required).
- 1-2 year of experience reading and analyzing human conducted studies for supplements, cosmetics, and pet products (required).
- Thorough understanding of FTC compliance requirements (required).

The base salary range is $56,300-$75,000, plus annual & monthly KPI bonus potential.
Salary is based on a wide range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geographical location.
