Communications Manager

The Role:
We’re looking for someone who lives to uncover and tell compelling stories. In this role, you’ll be a valuable member of the global communications team (which includes Public Relations, Social Media and Thought Leadership) to craft the message we take to our target audiences in North America. You’ll partner with the New York-based Senior Communications Director, our PR agency and executives across the company to develop and implement a comprehensive public relations strategy for Celonis that contributes significantly to our go-to-market plans for the region.
The work you’ll do:
You’ll ensure that Celonis’ unique value proposition is effectively communicated in North America that increases brand awareness and thought leadership:
- Contribute to the planning and execution of our communications strategy for Celonis and key leaders in North America, including the relevant narrative and messages we’ll bring to our audiences, around topics like AI, innovation, sustainability, and strategic alliances and partnerships
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with key global and North America media on behalf of Celonis
- Work directly with leaders across the company to help them hone their specific narrative and thought leadership platforms, and train and prepare them for media interactions
- Help develop and edit a wide range of media materials, including press releases, pitches, bylines, blog posts, abstracts, award nominations (eg for the likes of Forbes Cloud 100), and contributed content for a North American audience
- Work closely with the go-to-market and customer teams to ensure materials are on-message and coordinate opportunities with media
- Identify and manage relevant award applications, podcast opportunities and speaking engagement submissions for key executives
- Ensure our agency partners are delivering their commitments on time and exceeding our targets, and be the team’s go-to expert on how we report our stellar results
The qualifications you need:
You must be a self-motivated, passionate, resourceful, responsible communications professional with the confidence and experience to lead complex, strategic programs
- 3-5+ years of domain experience in communications; experience writing for a variety of different audiences is desired; PR agency or related media relations experience is extremely beneficial; general journalistic or marketing experience is also beneficial
- Excellent media relations skills and close relationships with national business, technology and enterprise media, as well as vertical industry trade media, and the results to show for it
- Excellent English writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees
- Experience creating compelling, media-ready messaging and narratives
- A good understanding of integrated communications programs and the ability to lead them with focus on press relations and social media
- Deep knowledge of topics that drive media interest in the technology space, such as AI, innovation, automation, RPA
- Pre, at and post IPO experience ideally in the SaaS/enterprise software space
- Experience working with senior executives or a C-suite; confidence to deal with senior executives and recommend communication techniques
