Job Description
What will you be doing?
As a Mechanical Piping and Water Systems Engineer, you will join the team in Derby/Warrington to support our activities within the Energy (Nuclear) sector.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Design and engineer equipment such as pumps, pipelines, and filters for various applications within the Energy (Nuclear) sector.
- Conduct hands-on calculations, particularly in pressure drop analysis, to ensure optimal performance of mechanical systems.
- Develop and review P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) for wastewater and compressed air systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Support the full project lifecycle from concept development and requirements gathering to verification and validation.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure project success.
Who are we looking for?
- Experience in designing equipment such as pumps, pipelines, and filters
- Proficiency in hands-on calculations, particularly in pressure drop analysis
- Familiarity with P&ID for wastewater and compressed air systems
- Exposure to containment systems, preferably in environments such as Sellafield, Westinghouse, or EDF suppliers

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- Degree in Nuclear Engineering or related field, or relevant placement experience
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and engineering principles.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to equipment design and process engineering.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
