Manager, Product Delivery
Position Summary:
The Manager of Product Delivery works with the business and technical teams in the areas of product development and delivery across strategic initiatives. This role drives, manages, and delivers high-quality, purpose-built offerings and features for the core product. If awarded the role, it is necessary to take ownership and quickly become a subject matter expert for the core product, offerings, and features. This position works closely with the product owner who provides direction on product vision.
The Manager of Product Delivery leads a team of highly talented and capable SQL developers to assertively execute against the backlog of data layer requirements. You will hold yourself and your team accountable for consistently delivering quality at every release cycle. To reinforce, the expectation is you are a detail-oriented professional who takes pride in following through, keeping others informed, and delivering every item with quality. You will be empowered to take ownership of your responsibilities. You will need to develop metrics and KPIs to ensure efficiency and identify areas needing improvement. Your product’s core architecture is MS SQL for the foreseeable future, so you will need proficiency in working with MS SQL Server. If you have full stack experience, that is an advantage. Most importantly, you must exhibit accountability and demand quality in all that you and your team do.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Possesses strong understanding of stored procedures, views, and functions within T-SQL
- Ensures clear requirements are provided to developers
- Ensures adequate developer capacity for proposed development work
- Reviews/approves development plans, test cases and pull requests (including code reviews)
- Ensures everyone is following the adopted development process, code standards, and best practices
- Creates and maintains metrics and KPIs
- Provides status updates related to ongoing development work
- Helps address any blockers to development when necessary
- Owns the outcomes of release deliveries
- Assists with release documentation
- Clearly presents and communicates complex technical requirements in a way business users can understand
- Participates in discussions with Product owner and senior management regarding strategy and vision.
- Coaching and managing team to promote professional growth and meet goals
- Performs managerial administrative functions
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Undergraduate degree
- Four years technical experience
- Four years of management experience
Preferred:
- Undergraduate degree with quantitative focus
- Five or more years
- Healthcare and pharmaceutical industry experience
