Position Summary:
The Translational Science Logistics Manager will oversee all logistics activities related to sample and supply receipt and shipping. This senior role involves managing a team responsible for inventory management, sample handling, and adherence to IATA standards. The Logistics Manager will play a key role in project management, ensuring efficient operations, cross-functional communication, collaboration, and domain expertise within the shipping and logistics function.
Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical and managerial oversight to the logistics department.
- Guide and mentor team members on technical and leadership aspects in collaboration with the director.
- Act as the Control Tower lead to enhance Shipping & Receiving activities.
- Manage workload, resources, and direct reports while interfacing with clients.
- Set up Logistics Projects and support proposal development.
- Ensure proper storage of consumables and incoming goods.
- Oversee receiving, inspection, and logging of supplies in ERP systems.
- Manage shipment tracking and support clinical sample receiving.
- Contribute to monthly metrics reporting and attend relevant meetings.
- Communicate with couriers, vendors, internal teams, and customers effectively.
- Coordinate with other team leaders and participate in process improvement activities.
- Identify and escalate risks/issues promptly and seek mitigation guidance.
- Participate in project reviews and provide input on scope, feasibility, and resources.
- Oversee SOP and policy compliance, training, and documentation within the department.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Science, Business, or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in Global Logistics and Shipping, including temperature-controlled shipping.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Clinical Trials (GxP).
- 3-5 years of experience as a Team Lead with direct reports and 2-3 years without direct reports.
- Experience in Supply Chain Management, ERP systems, and warehousing procedures (incoming goods, inventory).

- Work well under pressure and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred:
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience.
- Familiarity with ERP and courier online tools.
- Knowledge of GxP or CAP/CLIA/ISO standards and IATA training.
- Background in a laboratory setting with Clinical Trial regulatory guidelines (cGMP, cGLP, ISO) and SOPs.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and people management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office products (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
