Summary of Job:

The Linux Cloud Engineer Instructor position is a multifaceted role encompassing both lesson plan creation and dynamic class instruction.  In the weeks leading up to the launch of the course, you will be responsible for creating lesson plans for the program, based on the provided Linux content.  From there, you'll lead a 10-week Cloud Engineer Professional Program guiding students through the intricacies of cloud engineering focusing particularly on the Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator Exam.

We're searching for a knowledgeable educator with a strong background in Linux systems and cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. Your expertise will be pivotal in creating a hands-on curriculum that equips students with the skills to tackle real-world cloud engineering challenges.

If you have experience in adult technical education and a deep understanding of Linux operating systems, cloud principles, and scripting languages like Bash, we want to hear from you. You'll play a key role in developing engaging learning materials and guiding students through practical projects, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.

At the core of your responsibilities is the delivery of engaging and effective instruction that not only imparts knowledge but also inspires curiosity and problem-solving skills. Your passion for education and commitment to student success will drive the evolution of our Cloud Engineer Professional Program.

 

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans in collaboration with curriculum designers, utilizing the Linux curriculum, activities, and materials to effectively cover essential cloud engineering concepts.
  • Create interactive learning activities tailored to diverse learning styles and backgrounds, integrating real-world scenarios, industry tools, and practical case studies to enhance students' problem-solving skills and practical knowledge.
  • Lead engaging instruction in the 10-week Cloud Engineering Professional Program, focusing on hands-on learning.
  • Evaluate student performance through exams, projects, and assessments, offering constructive feedback. Provide mentorship, and address questions to ensure their success in cloud engineering.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, Linux systems administration, or related roles.
  • Required certifications:
    • Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator (LFCS)
  • Proven track record in creating and delivering technical curriculum for adult learners.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash) and automation tools.
  • Experience with designing and implementing hands-on learning activities and assessments.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security principles, and containerization technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and adapt to changing educational needs.

Hourly salary only: In Colorado, the anticipated hourly salary for this role is $53-55/hr. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
