Job Description
Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Lead Business Analyst to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing client information, developing and evaluating engagement strategies, and ensuring successful project delivery. This role requires strong leadership capabilities to manage and motivate staff, build and manage project teams, and ensure that work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze client information and develop engagement strategies that align with project objectives.
- Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the customer portfolio, managing service delivery aspects and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategic communications to support project goals.
- Manage, motivate, and lead staff, building high-performance teams that drive successful project outcomes.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to ensure that project goals are clearly defined and aligned with client needs.
- Oversee engagement activities, ensuring the team performs work within the agreed schedule and budget.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client engagements, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication with stakeholders.
- Track project progress, risks, and issues, and ensure timely resolution to keep the project on track.
- Provide regular updates and reports to project leadership and stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 8+ years of relevant work experience as a business analyst or in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement engagement strategies that meet project objectives.
- Proven experience working within a Program Management Office (PMO), supporting governance, standardization of processes, and ensuring alignment with project management best practices and organizational objectives.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and delivering projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in federal contracting, particularly with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or other relevant business analysis certification.
- Expertise in business process improvement and strategic communications.
Eligibility:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.
Compensation:
Salary for this position is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, location, the candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
The proposed salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000.
