Job Description

IT Field Engineers collaborate with other IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, cloud engineers, and help desk teams. If you're interested in this role, keep enhancing your technical skills and stay up to date with industry trends!

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. On-Site Support:
    • Visit client locations (such as offices, data centres, or remote sites) to address technical issues.
    • Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software components.
    • Resolve network connectivity problems.
    • Set up and maintain printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
  2. Hardware Maintenance:
    • Diagnose and repair hardware failures (e.g., laptops, desktops, servers, switches).
    • Replace faulty components (e.g., hard drives, RAM, power supplies).
    • Perform preventive maintenance (cleaning, updates, backups).
  3. Software Support:
    • Assist users with software installations, updates, and patches.
    • Troubleshoot software-related issues (e.g., operating systems, applications).
    • Provide guidance on best practices for software usage.
  4. Network Administration:
    • Configure and manage network devices (routers, switches, firewalls).
    • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
    • Monitor network performance and security.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of service requests, resolutions, and equipment inventory.
    • Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and recommendations.
  6. Customer Service:
    • Communicate effectively with end-users, understanding their technical needs and providing timely solutions.
    • Ensure excellent customer satisfaction through professional interactions.
  7. Vendor Management:
    • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and manage relationships effectively.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Interact within cross-functional teams, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments.
