ABOUT THIS POSITION
Level up your career with Digital Extremes! We're searching for a skilled and enthusiastic Intermediate Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping our games and business strategies by transforming raw data into actionable insights. You'll focus on building dashboards that visualize key performance indicators (KPIs), player behavior with a particular emphasis on funnel analysis, platform and regional comparisons.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, develop, and maintain insightful and interactive dashboards in Redash, providing clear visualizations of complex game data.
- Construct and optimize SQL queries to extract and transform data from Postgres and Athena data sources, including game logs, player databases, and marketing platforms.
- Collaborate with game designers, producers, and support teams to understand their data needs and translate them into effective dashboards and reports.
- Develop and maintain documentation for dashboards and underlying data models.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as player retention, monetization, and engagement, and provide regular reports to stakeholders.
- Analyze player behavior, in-game economies, and marketing campaign performance to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Contribute to the development of data-driven strategies for game design, marketing, and live operations.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest BI tools, technologies, and best practices in the gaming industry.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in a Business Intelligence Developer role, ideally within the video game industry.
- Proven experience in designing and developing dashboards with a focus on funnel analysis and regional comparisons.
- Strong SQL skills with experience querying relational databases like Postgres.
- Experience with AWS Athena or similar serverless query services.
- Proficiency in Redash or similar BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing principles.
- Passion for video games and a strong understanding of game design principles and player behavior.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
PREFERRED EXTRAS
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Python for data automation and analysis.
- Experience with A/B testing analysis and reporting in a gaming context.
- Knowledge of data governance and security best practices related to player data.
