Insurance Partner Account Manager - Public Sector

About the role:

We are seeking an Insurance Partner Account Manager with Public Sector sales and/or channel experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background selling into the public sector. Reporting to the Manager of Insurance Partnerships, this role will be pivotal in sourcing, structuring, and developing business relationships with individual carriers, brokers, and risk pools throughout the country. Activities will include relationship building and management from the C-suite down, program building and execution, marketing, training and enablement of Agents and Producers, and data-oriented practice development done in high-touch collaboration with Samsara’s insurance partners.

In this role, you will: 

There are a few functional competencies required for this candidate to be successful in the role:

  • Identifying and sourcing high-quality insurance partners in each of the categories (insurance carriers, brokers, other insurance ecosystem partners). Some working knowledge of the insurance industry is a plus. Bonus points for anything related to commercial auto.
  • Partner with the Public Sector Sales organization to expand Samsara’s footprint and drive business through our insurance channel.
  • Partner with sales engineers on data integration questions or defining a new product feature request
  • Partner with legal on contracts or data privacy/security issues and with Finance on paid referral payments, etc.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices

Minimum requirements for the role:

5+ Years Experience working in Public-Sector sales or partnerships. SaaS Software; insurance industry knowledge is a plus.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • High degree of independence and time management skills. Given hundreds of potential partners in the insurance ecosystem, as well as competing internal interests, identifying where time spent will be most valuable to ensure revenue metrics are achieved
  • Sales acumen, relationship management, and negotiation skills.  Ramping quickly to understand the insurance landscape, learning internal tools and processes, and operating in these systems.
