The Histotechnologist provides assistance to the Signatera team by cutting, staining, and preparing tissue samples for pathologist review. The individual will be responsible for participating in operations of a histology lab.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform histological preparations for the tissue whole exome sequencing laboratory with little to no errors
• Duties may include but not limited to: preparation of tissues, stained slides, microdissection, and supporting workflow tasks
• Follows Good Laboratory Practice (GLP): maintain clean and organized work space
• Recognizes and escalates equipment or LIS malfunctions; troubleshoots common errors
• Recognizes, documents, escalate protocol deviations to lab management
• Maintains equipment and instruments in good operating condition
• Communicates with team and other departments
• Provides feedback on workflow to lab management and offers suggestions/ideas for improvement
• Assist teammates in completing daily tasks
• Adheres to departmental procedures
QUALIFICATIONS

Associates degree and completion of a certified clinical program in medical laboratory sciences in histopathology or equivalent.

ASCP certified HT/HTL
