To drive future innovation in healthcare, Verily is integrating the most advanced techniques in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science into our products. The Head of AI and Data Sciences will build and lead these teams, deliver advancements to our customers, oversee an AI research team, and be a key spokesperson for these innovations with our customers and the market. The leader will work closely with product management, engineering, scientific, and business teams daily.
Responsibilities
- Develop the company’s strategy for AI, ML, and data science, in collaboration with peers across Verily.
- Drive an AI First objective to deliver state-of-the-art innovations and measurable experience improvements across Verily’s product lines in clinical research, care delivery, and financing solutions.
- Recruit, develop, and lead a team of AI, ML, and data science experts.
- Uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity and an ethical approach to the development and use of AI technologies in healthcare.
- Be an outstanding and collaborative leader and cultivate partnerships with customers and external industry and academic collaborators.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in AI, machine learning, data science, or related fields, with 8+ years of demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Strong track record of shipping products that deploy AI, machine learning, and data science solutions to create meaningful customer value.
- Pragmatic leadership skills to drive execution in startup environments and a strong interpersonal ability to engage and collaborate with partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with regulated medical software products and/or hardware medical devices.
- Strong industry and academic collaborations.
- Excellent track record of high-quality publications and research accomplishments.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $256,000 - $340,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
