Who we seek:
We’re seeking a FP&A Analyst to join our Finance team and provide financial planning and analysis activities for our Product and Engineering divisions. Reporting to the Director of FP&A - R&D, the FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in driving financial insights, providing strategic guidance, and supporting decision-making processes to ensure the long-term success of our product and R&D initiatives. The ideal candidate has a background in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration within the software industry, including product managers and engineering leaders.
What you’ll do:
- Provide FP&A support for R&D (Engineering and Product), collaborating closely with the respective leaders to drive financial performance and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and budgets that provide accurate insights into the performance and profitability of product lines, cloud hosting, and other R&D projects
- Analyze and optimize cloud hosting costs
- Conduct rigorous financial analysis, evaluate investment opportunities, and identify risks and opportunities to optimize resource allocation, drive growth, and improve profitability
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, and Business Operations to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and provide financial guidance for R&D initiatives, including capacity planning for new product launches and feature enhancements
- Create and maintain monthly and quarterly financial planning processes, including the preparation and presentation of financial reports, variance analysis, and KPIs for senior leadership and stakeholders
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
What you’ll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 2+ years experience in FP&A. Product finance and R&D analysis in software - a plus
- Strong understanding of SaaS business models and software development life cycle
- Strong understanding of cloud hosting cost management
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrated expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Excellent business acumen, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations
- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in G-Suite, Excel, and NetSuite. Experience with FP&A tools is a plus.
