Job Description
Field Service Specialist
To 48000 euro, plus excellent benefits and overtime
Company car with fuel card that covers Electric Vehicle charging
This role is home based covering Ireland, so a central Ireland base would be ideal - perhaps around Galway / Tipperary / Offaly / Laois.
What is the purpose of the role?
The Technology Specialist will be joining an elite Ultra Filtration Team, working in a versatile and collaborative unit of industry experts, contributing to cutting-edge membrane technology. You will be joining a company specialising in the global impact of water treatment and beyond.
You will be servicing Ultra Filtration (UF) and Membrane Bio-Reactor (MBR) installations, with essential maintenance activities for our customers carried out on their sites.
You will collect samples for laboratory analysis, perform simple water analysis tests, liaise with the sales team concerning new, upgrade and replacement opportunities as well as being the main point of contact for key strategic customers.
What travel should you expect?
The role may involve periods working away from home, possibly in the UK, however most routine site service activity jobs are normally completed within a typical working week.
A car and fuel card are provided.
What does the day to day look like?
- Management of health and safety and environmental standards in an industrial environment on complex multi customer sites
- Visible leadership on HSE issues at all levels both within customer organisations and Veolia WTS
- Understand the multi-skilled EMI maintenance function in order to complete complex maintenance tasks
- Identify faults, evaluate rectification measures and make initial recommendations
- Interpret advanced technical literature and drawings to affect repairs
- Display good knowledge of all electronic systems used for maintenance work ie CMMS
- Utilise plant information, identify changes in equipment performance or operational problems, evaluate and make initial recommendations to return plant to its optimum operating condition
- Take a proactive approach to safety, inputting monthly safety stats and KPI’s and taking an active part in ensuring the team meets its targets
- Analyse project risk within the context of long term site service contracts
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with colleagues and sub contractors
- Develop & maintain good housekeeping practices
- Continually look to improve methods and systems

Qualifications
What skills and experience are we looking for?
- Previous experience within water treatment
- Extensive experience of carrying out all aspects of a mechanical planned maintenance programme
- Operational and maintenance knowledge of water & effluent treatment plants
- Experience of working directly with subcontractors and dealing with third parties to arrange / organise tasks.
- Ability to interpret advanced technical literature and engineering drawings to affect repairs of complex items of plant
- Demonstrable knowledge of complete cycle of maintenance work from planning stage to implementation and to completion of tasks.
- Ability to work independently
