Overview
In this multifaceted role, you'll spearhead Recharge's owned event initiatives, playing a key role in merchant retention, upsell opportunities, and building strong brand loyalty. You'll own the strategy, execution, and measurement of our marquee events – ChargeX (annual user conference) and ChargeUp (regionalized hosted events) – ensuring they deliver exceptional value to our merchants and contribute significantly to Recharge's overall goals. Additionally, you'll provide support and alignment for the ABM (Account-Based Marketing) team's event motion, fostering a cohesive event experience for our high-value accounts.
What you’ll do
- ChargeX - Lead the Charge:
- Partner with the Director of Events and cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Success) to develop and execute a captivating ChargeX conference experience and strategy.
- Oversee all aspects of ChargeX, including theme development, agenda creation, speaker recruitment, production, staffing, budget management, vendor coordination, and marketing initiatives.
- Craft and deliver engaging presentations that showcase Recharge's value proposition and drive product adoption.
- Measure event success through key metrics (attendance, engagement, ROI) and utilize data to refine future ChargeX conferences.
- ChargeUp - Energize Regional Markets:
- Plan and execute regional ChargeUp events, tailoring content and format to cater to the specific needs of merchants in each region.
- Collaborate with regional sales and partner marketing teams to ensure successful event promotion and merchant engagement.
- Leverage learnings from ChargeUp events to inform broader Recharge marketing strategies.
- ABM Event Motion - Align and Support:
- Work closely with the ABM team to ensure alignment between ChargeX/ChargeUp events and targeted outreach efforts for key accounts.
- Assist with the execution of 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many engagement activities for high-priority accounts during events.
- Provide insights and feedback to the ABM team regarding merchant needs and pain points identified through event interactions.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in event marketing or a related field.
- Proven track record of planning and executing large-scale marketing events.
- Strong understanding of B2B subscription and DTC marketing strategies, campaign management, and event budgeting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders (internal and external).
- Project management expertise with a focus on organization, prioritization, and meeting deadlines.
- Data-driven approach with a passion for measuring and analyzing event impact.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello) and marketing automation platforms.
- Bonus: Experience with the subscription commerce industry and a passion for Recharge's mission.
